The following is a guide that event promoters and/or traveling engineers can use to get a feel for a "standard" Flash Point rig. Keep in mind that no job is too big or too small. Flash Point Production systems are based around universally accepted EAW KF-850EF 3-way speaker cabinets. At the present time, we maintain a stock of 8 KF-850EF's, 8 SB850R's and 8 KF-300E's. Virtually any size venue or system configuration can be accommodated as a result of our membership with the EAW VATA network. We also offer up to 8 double sugar scoops loaded with 15" JBL 2226's as a sub woofer option. Over the years, many engineers have come to prefer this folded horn sub when an act requires an extremely powerful kick drum impact. Drive crossovers include MX800i for 850 rigs and MX 300i for 300 rigs. All amplifiers are Carver. Power distribution is single phase cam-lock in (ground reversed) to L14-20 twist lock out. Fly bars, hardware, rigging, tripod stands (for single 300's), ground support and motors are available
Front of house consoles include PM-3000 40 channel, TAC Scorpion 30x8x2 or TAC B2 28x4x2. Rack 1 contains; the system processor, 2 White 1/3 octave equalizers, Goldline real time analyzer, Rane AD22B time delay, Carver cd player, Nakamichi MR-2 cassette deck and communication to monitor world. Rack 2 contains; Roland SDE-3000 delay, Yamaha SPX-900, Yamaha SPX-90 II and Lexicon PCM-70 reverbs, 8 channels of Gatex gates, 10 channels of Alesis 3630 Compressors, and a Carver headphone amp. The split snake system is 42 transformer isolated channels. We have the standard array of quality microphones including SM-58's and 57's, SM-81 and 94's for condensers, MD-421's, Pl-20's, RE-20's, and D12E's. All DI's are active. Wireless hand-held and lavalieres are available.
Venice Sharks Tooth & Seafood Festival (1998)
We feature EAW SM-200 Monitors as well as a proprietary monitor wedge we call an FPM-1. This amazingly flat, low profile, bi-amplified and time-ali gned box contains 1 JBL 2226 15", and 1 JBL 2425 1" horn. Concentric pairs ("horn left" + "horn right") create an acoustic coupling on the bottom end that is usable even as a drum mix. Rane AC-22 crossovers drive Carver amps. Another drum mix option utilizes a pair of KF-300's with a pair of SB300 18" subs. This becomes a tri-amped, 4-way passive mix (for deaf guys). Side fills are a single sugar scoop with a pair of KF-300's on either sides of the stage for a stereo mix. Up to 8 bi-amped and 3 tri-amped mixes are in a normal package along with a Yamaha Rev 7 and 4 channels of Alesis 3630 compressors. Six additional mixes are available should the need arise. All mixes use 1/3 octave Ashley equalizers. Monitor consoles include TAC Scorpion 30x10, Soundcraft 400B 24x10 or Yamaha 2408.
